Today, a variety of brands of corrugated board are used for roofing and construction work. And this is not surprising, because corrugated board, due to its low cost and ease of use, is quite in demand in the construction market.
However, the variety of brands of corrugated board has another side - sometimes it is quite difficult to figure out which variety is suitable for a particular task.
Below we will describe how the marking applied by the manufacturer to the sheet of corrugated board is deciphered, and also what its most common brands are intended for.
We decipher the marking of corrugated board
When we choose corrugated board, the markings on its sheets can become a storehouse of a wide variety of information. However, for an uninitiated person, all these numbers and letters do not carry any value.
That is why everyone who decides to work with corrugated board should, at least in general terms, study the principles by which it is marked.
The marking of corrugated board is easiest to explain with an example. Let's say the text is applied to a sheet of corrugated board:
From 21-0.55-750-12000
What do these symbols mean?
- The first letter indicates the type of corrugated board. H - corrugated roofing, C- wall decking, and corrugated board with CH index can be used for corrugated roofing, and for the manufacture of wall fencing.
- The second number is the height of the profile in millimeters.
- Further - the thickness of the metal that was used for stamping the corrugated sheet, in mm.
- The third digit is the mounting width of the corrugated sheet, mm.
- The fourth digit is the maximum length of the corrugated board, also in millimeters.
Thus, we get: our corrugated board is used for wall fencing, has a height of 21 mm, is made of metal 0.55 mm. Supplied in sheets 0.75x12 m.
As you can see, the marking of corrugated board contains almost all the information necessary for the master.
And now that we have figured out how to read the markings, it's time to move on to considering the most common brands of corrugated board.
Profiled C 8

C8 corrugated board is a decorative wall profiled sheet with a profile height of 8 mm.The configuration of the profile is such that the width of the shelves is many times greater than the height of the profile, and the repeat period of its corrugations is 80 mm.
This brand of corrugated board is focused on use for the construction of enclosing structures and wall coverings.
The optimal lathing step for the installation of C8 corrugated board is 0.6 m. The corrugated board is produced with a polymer coating of different colors, however, if necessary, it can also be painted with enamel paints.
European analogues of this corrugated board are grades T8 and T6
Profiled C 10
C10 is stamped from galvanized sheet steel. First of all, this corrugated board is intended for the construction of wall fences, but in some cases it can also be used as a roofing material.
The advantage of corrugated board of this brand is its good bearing capacity. For example, a fence from this corrugated board can be made up to 2.5 m high.
The optimal step of the crate for C10 corrugated board is 0.8 m.
Analogues of this corrugated board - grades T10 and RAN-10
Profiled C 18

Despite the fact that nominally the C18 brand belongs to the category of wall corrugated boards, it has long been successfully used for arranging metal roofing.
The wide shelves of this corrugated board are reinforced with a small stiffener, which eliminates one of the disadvantages of a folded type roof - loud pops of flat shelves during gusts of wind.
The appearance of this profile also contributes to its widespread use as a roofing material.
The tightness of both the roof and the fences made of corrugated board is ensured by extreme narrow corrugations and a special groove for water drainage. This brand of corrugated board can be produced both with polymer coloring and with enamel coloring (on a 0.5 mm basis).
The profile was developed on the basis of RAN-19R corrugated board (Finland). An analogue of C18 corrugated board is the profiled sheet "Orion".
Profiled C 21
Wall decking designed for wall cladding, fencing, etc. . It is also allowed to use C21 corrugated board for roofing as a base for soft roofing materials and as an independent roof.
With relatively high corrugations, the mechanical stability of the profile is ensured due to their frequency and symmetry. The rigidity of the profile, which is achieved by this method, is one of the main reasons for the widespread use of C21 corrugated board.
The shape of the extreme corrugations provides a good level of adhesion, which is another advantage of C21 corrugated board.
The European analogue of C21 is RAN-20SR (Finland)
Profiled C 44
Profiled C44 is standardized roof metal profile, the shelves of which do not have additional stiffeners.
The covering width of C44 is 1 m, which ensures the widest application of this profiled sheet for both wall cladding and metal roofing. The minimum thickness of the steel base of this corrugated board is 0.5 mm.
Decking H 57 750
This type of corrugated board is one of the most popular, due to the optimal combination of characteristics:
- Coating width
- Load bearing capacity
- Price
Due to the inclusion of this corrugated board in GOST 24045-94, a significant part of the calculations of the bearing capacity is performed "with an eye" to this particular brand. However, today the production of H57 750 corrugated board is hampered by the lack of blanks of the required width (1100 mm) from rolled steel of the required quality.
Profiled H-57 900

This metal profile is made from rolled products with a width of 1250 mm and a grade of 220 and higher. Most often used as an alternative to H57 750 corrugated board.
This corrugated board is intended for roofing, however, it can also be used to create enclosing elements and fixed formwork elements.
For profiled sheets H 57 750 and H 57 900, the maximum step of the crate is 3 m.
Decking NS35
The professional flooring of the HC 35 brand belongs to the category of universal. It is used both for fences and for wall cladding, and also as a roofing material.
The mechanical characteristics of the corrugated board are provided by 7 mm stiffening ribs rolled on the shelves, and also by using a galvanized steel sheet up to 0.8 mm thick as a base.
A large number of stiffeners per unit area makes it possible to use NS 35 corrugated board as a cover on a sufficiently sparse crate with a step of up to 1.2 - 1.5 m.
Note! Only HC 35 corrugated board on a base with a thickness of 0.5 mm is subject to double-sided polymer painting.
Decking NS 44
This brand of profiled material is made of steel sheets 1.4 m wide, with stiffening ribs on the shelves at least 7 mm deep.
The professional flooring HC 44 is universal, and is suitable for both wall structures and roofing.
The high strength of this corrugated board allows you to mount it on the crate in increments of up to 2.5 m.
Profiled H60

Roofing sheeting H 60 is used both as an independent roofing material and as a basis for soft roofing materials. Also, this corrugated board is used as a fixed formwork.
The corrugated board is stamped from a sheet of galvanized steel with a width of 1250 millimeters.
This type of corrugated board is distinguished by high versatility, good mechanical performance, and (which is important!) A high level of accessibility.
Profiled H75
Like the previous brand, H75 corrugated board is positioned as a corrugated board for roofing. It is used for arranging metal roofs, fixed formwork, and also as a basis for membrane-type roofing materials.
This corrugated board is produced from rolled steel of high quality (rolled steel grade from 220 to 350)
H75 corrugated board is the most popular brand used in modern construction, and therefore is one of the leaders both in terms of production and sales.
Naturally, this list is far from complete, especially since new grades of profiled steel sheet periodically enter the construction market.
And first of all, marking will help us to understand their characteristics - it is still better to use corrugated board exactly the one that is most suitable for your task! But we are sure that in all the variety you will be able to make the right choice!
