What is the difference between the interior in the steampunk style and who will suit it

Not everyone likes flashy colors in the interior of their room and likes to add warm colors to create the most cozy atmosphere in the room. But what to do when you want something bright, unique and different from everyone else? For people who love to experiment with style in their home or apartment, steampunk is worth a try - it is little known due to its rare use, but it looks very cool.

Highlight the main features of steampunk interiors

Consider the most basic and common:

  • functionality - all decorative objects in the room should have this feature. Such details can be used not only for their intended purpose, but also make them part of the decor: a sofa, a lamp and even a clock in the microwave will find their use;
  • "metallic taste" - the presence of bronze, copper, iron - all this, on the contrary, creates exactly the steampunk style that needs to be achieved. Properly selected elements using metal will create the effect of romance, strength and perfection in the room;
  • naturalness - no synthetics, but only ordinary natural material: stone, brick, wood;
  • antiquity - it would be a good idea to have an antique clock in the room, shabby maps, a simple globe with a classic designation. Such details are welcome and now, you can experiment by adding everything that you thought was old and out of fashion.

Steampunk style features

The steampunk style is very diverse and unique in its approach to interior design. Now your old clothes can be given a second life and turned into a fashion accessory. For example, you have an old chest and you don't want to throw it away. It is enough to restore it, and again put it in a conspicuous place. If it has metal parts, then try to highlight them as much as possible, for example, by painting them with black paint. Wood and metal are part of the steampunk style and this combination is possible not only for chests.

Walls can be used without plaster. Natural brick, on the contrary, will create a rough and hard shade. If you don’t have such an opportunity, because it often happens that the walls are mostly made of blocks, then wallpapering with imitation of bricks is suitable or 3D relief panels are suitable, but the latter, if you buy cheap ones, will not allow the walls to “breathe” normally and turn into a place for condensation to accumulate .

Mostly in the steampunk style, handmade items are highly valued, but they are quite expensive to buy, so most people prefer the classics or Hi-Tech - cheaper, more modern, easier to use. But steampunk is an extraordinary style and is welcome if you know how to do everything yourself. It is very simple to take a tree, sand it, process it with fire and process it again, and then fix it on the wall with metal fasteners, after painting them with black paint.

This method creates an ordinary shelf for books or steampunk flowerpots. If you want to decorate your window sill, then try instead of plastic pots to make wooden ones and plant flowers in them. It is better to use natural boards with knots and small chips, and then process them in the same way as in the example above and then fasten them together, plant a plant and cover them with earth.
