How to properly store toys in the nursery

Toy companies are constantly inventing interesting novelties, forcing parents to buy robots, superheroes, and board games for their children. At the same time, the number of toys is constantly increasing, and there is almost no free space left. In addition, many children are not so easy to part with old toys. Today we will talk about methods for storing toys in the nursery.

Throw away old and unused toys

This item is very important, you can discuss it with the child, because he himself understands that some of the toys have not been used for a long time. You yourself can check the collection, but at the same time take into account the opinion of the child.

What to get rid of first

  • You can throw away old plastic toys that have already lost their color or are broken. Consider a mosaic with lost parts, constructors and other kits;
  • Toys that are not age-appropriate can also be dumped without regret or donated to the poor. Do not touch soft bunnies and doggies yet, suddenly the child will be upset. Baby dolls can also be thrown away, but still consult with the children. Well, you can get rid of nursery toys that have long been abandoned;
  • Toys that are not used and take up space can be safely thrown away with the approval of their owner. If it is something valuable, you can keep it as a keepsake by putting it in a closet.

Items belonging to the same category can be stored in a separate place

You don't need to put everything together. In order to quickly find things and keep the room in order, you should determine your storage places for different types of things and objects. There are dividers in the children's wardrobe, with their help you can organize things into categories and store them in separate spaces. For example, you can put laundry in one compartment and use the other for sweaters and scarves. In a chest of drawers, in drawers and on shelves, you can categorize storage places using boxes.

Consider the needs of children when arranging storage spaces

Usually, what may be useful and convenient for an adult, for children turns out to be a little high or deep, or even inaccessible. Furniture items where things will be stored should be selected based on children. They should not be too high and have a suitable depth, be safe for the child and attract his attention. It is better to lower the shelves and rods of the cabinet a little lower.

The interior items themselves may be of a standard look and not look childish, but baskets, coat hangers, hooks and boxes, as well as organizers, should be selected in bright colors and the appropriate size. In addition to tall furniture, you can use a ladder stool. This will allow the baby to get the necessary things from the upper compartments.

Store things vertically, avoid stacks

You have probably wondered why everything that is stacked in the closet and left on the shelves very quickly becomes an uncontrollable mass of things. This is because there is no order, but you can put it in the nursery. Marie Kondo suggests using a vertical storage method for this task. At the same time, both clothes and school notebooks, books, sports items, combs, and so on should be stored in this way.
