A few words about the company
The Izospan trademark belongs to the Russian company Geksa. It can be called a pioneer among domestic manufacturers of waterproofing membranes. The first films under this brand appeared in 2001.
Over the past fifteen years, the Izospan vapor barrier has proven itself well and has become widespread not only in Russia, but also in other CIS countries. This is due to the high quality and durability of the products offered. Therefore, the geography of this brand continues to expand.

Vapor-permeable waterproofing includes the following membranes:
AQ proff
Features and scope. Izospan AQ proff is a professional three-layer vapor-permeable polypropylene membrane. With its help, you can protect the following structures from wind and moisture:
- Insulated frame walls;
- Warm and cold pitched roofs;
- Ventilated facades, i.e. exterior walls;
- Interfloor ceilings.
The main feature of this membrane, in addition to the ability to pass steam, is increased strength. Accordingly, it also has a longer service life than other analogues.
Instructions for using the AQ proff film require its correct location - the rough side should be facing the insulation, and the smooth side should be outward.

Series A
Features and scope. Izospan A is the cheapest vapor-permeable membrane from the entire line of this brand. It has low strength, as it consists of a single layer, but it has a high vapor permeability.
As a result, the film can be used for the following purposes:
- To protect the insulation in frame walls from atmospheric moisture;
- For waterproofing ventilated facades.
For roofing, it is better not to use Izospan A, since the material has low moisture resistance, i.e. able to pass the moisture accumulated on the surface.

Keep in mind that the width of the rolls of the films and membranes under consideration does not exceed 1.6 m. Therefore, if you need, for example, to waterproof a plane 2 m wide, you will have to spend twice as much material than with a width of 1.6 m.

AM-series
Izospan AM is a three-layer polypropylene membrane.This coating is designed to protect the insulation in the following designs:
- pitched roofs;
- Frame type walls;
- Attic floors;
- Ventilated facades.
The main feature of the AM film is that it can be laid on a heater, i.e. without ventilation gap. This allows you to save on the crate, as well as increase the speed of waterproofing work.

Series B
Features and scope. Unlike all of the above materials, Izospan B, like all other vapor barrier films, does not allow steam or water to pass through. Its structure includes two hermetic layers of polypropylene.
This material is always mounted from the side of the room, which allows you to protect the insulation from steam that moves from the room to the outside. In particular, the film is suitable for use in the following applications:
- For a "warm" roof;
- Frame type walls;
- Interfloor and attic floors;
- Basement ceilings.
One side of the film under consideration is smooth, and the other side is rough. During installation, it is desirable to place the material with a smooth side to the insulation. In this case, the rough side will hold moisture on the surface of the film so that it evaporates.

Features and scope. Izospan D is a two-layer membrane, which is a laminated woven fabric. The peculiarity of this material lies in its increased strength and resistance to ultraviolet radiation.
Thanks to this, the film can be used for the following purposes:
- For roofs with any angle of inclination, including flat ones;
- basement ceilings;
- For laying on concrete floors under logs or screed.
I must say that this material, in principle, can also be used for insulated frame structures as insulation from steam. However, it is more expedient in such cases to lay cheaper Izospan films, for example, series B.
Due to its high performance, the D series vapor barrier can be used as a temporary roof cover in case of seasonal construction stoppages.
Despite the fact that the film of the D series has a two-layer structure, it does not matter which side to lay it on the roof or other structures.

Features and scope. Izospan RM is a three-layer polyethylene vapor barrier reinforced with a polypropylene mesh. As a result, the canvas has high strength and weather resistance.
The manufacturer recommends using this material for the following purposes:
- For waterproofing inclined non-insulated roofs;
- For waterproofing flat roofs;
- For waterproofing floors on concrete and earth foundations under logs or screed.
When installing vapor-waterproofing coatings with your own hands, you should seal the joints of the canvases and the places where they are attached to the frame. Butyl rubber tape SL can be used for this.

This coating is made on the basis of kraft paper, on which metallized lavsan is applied. Thus, the scope of this product is quite limited.

Features and scope. Izospan FX is penofol, i.e. two-layer material consisting of a layer of polyethylene foam and aluminum foil. As a result, it performs several functions at once:

- Reflects heat into the room.
Therefore, this material can be used for the following purposes:
- For insulation of walls and ceilings;
- For roof insulation;
- For floor insulation in the underfloor heating system;
- As a floor underlay.
Penofol is always mounted with foil to the room.Otherwise, it cannot reflect heat.
