A new and properly installed metal tile by specialists will last up to three decades. A similar rule applies to recently other recently installed interior and exterior elements:
- wall panels;
- siding.

The metal tile for the roof of the cottage will suffer from the effects of adverse natural factors (snow, rain, branches, falling fruits of garden trees). Mandatory rules for preventive maintenance of metal tiles
Such a coating must be checked to determine if a repair is needed. The metal tile is protected by a polymer and galvanized so that the material can withstand different weather conditions. But moisture has a devastating effect on the coating.
A similar situation applies to most countries of Eurasia. Residents of industrial zones face serious pollution. They are difficult to remove and are detrimental to the zinc-polymer protection. Therefore, we call the rules for the prevention of problems with the roof:
- constantly monitor the roof: metal roof tiles especially vulnerable during the off-season when it rains;
- to make the coating look attractive and protect the house, it is necessary to remove the fallen leaves, otherwise rotting will lead to the appearance of moisture and destructive rust.
Additional conditions for the good condition of a metal roof
For scheduled cleaning on the roof, you must purchase or take the ones already available on the farm:
- step ladder to get to the roof of the house;
- a bucket of water to wash away the remnants of earth, sand, moss and other dirt;
- soft special brush - hard products can damage the metal tile;
- in winter - a snow-removing plastic shovel, since it is impossible to leave layers of snow on the metal tile so that it does not bend or rust when such precipitation melts.
The last tool is needed to remove snow from the roof. Metal tiles can only be cleaned with plastic equipment, otherwise mechanical damage is caused, reducing its service life.
So, scratches will occur from a metal snow shovel. The polymer protection will disappear, which will have to be repaired for a lot of money.
If ordinary cold water does not wash away dirt from the surface, you need to take special detergents. Be sure to make sure that they are suitable for washing metal roofing. After application, such formulations should be washed off from top to bottom.
If during a routine inspection or during cleaning, problems with the roof are found, it must be repaired. Then you need to turn to special roofing workers. Self-repair is not always effective.
