What are the disadvantages of drywall partitions?

Many builders believe that drywall partitions are a great option for zoning an apartment or house. This opinion appeared due to the fact that these partitions are installed very quickly and do not create pollution in the room, which means that you do not need to clean up and the work will not take much time.But the characteristics of this material when used as partitions are not as colorful as we would like.

Experienced builders unanimously argue that plasterboard partitions can only be suitable for zoning public spaces, but not a residential building. To prove this statement, you just need to bring a few significant disadvantages of drywall partitions. Such partitions have very poor sound insulation, even despite the fact that mineral insulation is located inside. To get good sound insulation from drywall, you need to install it with a thickness of at least one hundred millimeters, or even more.

But here a problem arises, because in a studio apartment they try, on the contrary, to save space and install partitions, no more than seventy-five millimeters thick. And the special cotton wool, which is installed inside, is slightly compressed, which reduces sound insulation. These barriers are very easy to break. To get rid of this problem or reduce the risk, then install a second layer of drywall. But even in this case there is a negative side, more space is occupied and such an improvement will cost more.

Such apartments are very convenient in terms of dividing zones, because they can be divided according to your own vision. To make this type of apartment more convenient, you need only three zones:
