In a modern apartment of any person there are at least 1-2 sensors for various purposes. Their installation is usually carried out by specialists of the relevant services, and although most often it is impossible to do without their help due to the specifics of the design of such devices and their accounting, some sensors can be installed with your own hands. Such work will not be difficult if it is performed by a person who has practical experience in repair work of any nature.
Types of sensors that can be installed in the apartment
The following sensors can be installed in any residential area:
- Siren with light and sound notification. It works when the detectors are activated, which in turn turn on when intruders enter the house.
- Sound siren. Simplified view of the previous version. Gives only a beep when triggered.
- Infrared motion sensors. Devices react to the movement of objects in the room.
- Infrared sensor with animal ignoring function. The device settings allow you to set the sensitivity to a certain level and not work on animals whose weight does not exceed the specified values. Such devices are relevant for apartments where there are pets.
- Temperature sensor. It measures the temperature in the premises and transmits the information to the operator's console or to the heating system, which, depending on the readings received, corrects the temperature.
- Smoke detectors and gas leaks. They work with smoke in the premises and gas leaks. It is possible to adjust the level of concentration of such substances at which the operation occurs.
- window sensors. They are attached to the glass and work when it is broken.
- Sensor for opening doors and windows. It works when they are opened by breaking the magnetic contact circuit.
Each of these sensors can be wired or wireless. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages, but the main features relate to reliability in operation. So, if wired sensors will work reliably as long as the wire connecting them to power supplies and the main receiving system is intact, then wireless sensors are more reliable in this regard and are able to transmit a signal over a greater distance.
Features of other types of alarms
The most common is a burglar alarm, which can be sold as a complete kit. This option is suitable for ordinary apartments or small offices. The user only needs to fix the sensors in the selected places and configure according to the attached instructions.Fire alarm devices are also commercially available.
In this case, coordination with other residents of the house and the HOA will be required, since these devices are mainly located on the common house territory or combine several apartments at once. The installation is also associated with a number of technical difficulties, so only specialists can produce it, and it is first necessary to obtain an appropriate permit for this work from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
