There are several types of seam joints: standing, when the long edges of the strips located along the slope are connected, and horizontal - when the strips are connected perpendicular to the slope.
There are also single and double connections. For the manufacture of such a roof, either special equipment is used, or material equipped with self-latching folds, which are connected by simply pressing on their surface.
The highest water resistance of all types of folded coatings is possessed by a double standing fold, which is made in the form of a longitudinal joint protruding above the roof surface with a double bend of the frames. This option is considered the most reliable, although difficult to install, and has been used in Western Europe and Russia since the end of the 19th century.
Another option for seam roofing is a single standing self-latching seam, whose fastening is designed specifically for use in the climatic conditions of our country and is considered much more effective than fastenings of various analogues produced in Europe.
This coating is laid on a conventional crate made of insulation, galvanized or wood. For fixing the roof, special aluminum clamps are used, the use of which does not require additional equipment and tools, greatly simplifying and speeding up the installation process.
Clamps are also highly resistant to various loads and prevent the formation of cold bridges.

Slate is a rock in which the arrangement of elongated or lamellar materials is presented in the form of layers, which allows them to be split into separate plates quite easily, providing their wide application in the construction industry.

A shale stone is a stone formed from clay and sand many millions of years ago, in which compacted clay rocks crystallized under high pressure at a great depth.
The use of slate as a roofing material dates back to the 15th century.
This dark gray material has a layered, uneven structure and an oily sheen, and it should also be noted that it has the longest service life among all roofing materials used. Clay shale is used to cover the roof, which has a very high plasticity.
Slate mining is a rather complex and difficult procedure, resulting in black or gray tiles of various sizes and shapes.
Interesting: when mining slate, tiles of other colors, such as purple or red, also come across.
The positive characteristics of the slate coating include its increased resistance to external influences and various deformations, as well as a rather low water absorption coefficient.
This material is most often used when covering complex forms of roofing, various options for its installation are possible, which should be performed by qualified builders with special skills.
For the manufacture of lathing for slate roofing, slats are used, the cross section of which is 40x60 mm, nailed to the rafters with nails 100 mm at a distance depending on the length of the tiles used when laying the coating, and at least half of it.
Important: if strong winds are observed in the region where the slate roof is being laid, then it is necessary to carry out the crate in the form of a continuous formwork.
