The mezzanine itself is considered one of the subspecies of the built-in wardrobe, which is suspended, almost at the very ceiling of the room, mainly the kitchen. But there is an important question that interests those who decide to demolish mezzanines - is it possible to demolish them, without approval or not?

How to coordinate the arrangement of mezzanines in the apartment?

With regards to coordinating the arrangement of mezzanines in apartments, we can say the same thing as about the installation of ordinary built-in wardrobes.If during their construction it is not planned to cut or demolish walls in any way, then nothing needs to be agreed with the BTI. The same applies to housing inspections. In the event that such a cabinet has already been installed, and the owner is worried about how legal it is, then the answer is the same - you don’t have to worry. Since if the mezzanine is installed in a residential area without violating its layout, the doorways were not expanded or the walls were destroyed, then nothing illegal is observed in such an installation.

Mezzanine and redevelopment of the premises

Redevelopment means that the arrangement of the premises and the layout that already exists at the given time will be somehow changed. As a result of the redevelopment of the apartment, the situation will be different in comparison with that recorded in the technical documentation of the BTI. In the event that, during the course of the repair work, any individual premises indicated in the BTI documents are affected, or completely removed, this will be considered a redevelopment.

These things need to be agreed upon. Separate premises are:

  • rooms (residential and non-residential);
  • kitchen facilities;
  • sanitary rooms;
  • pantries;
  • corridors;

Rooms, corridors and bathrooms - of course. However, things are a little different with built-in furniture. Built-in furniture includes not only cabinets located along the walls. Wardrobes and pantries, as well as mezzanines - also belong to the built-in furniture. However, not all of them are reflected in the BTI documents. Mezzanines are not indicated in the plans.So what to do with mezzanines if redevelopment is planned? Is it possible to consider that redevelopment is being carried out if the mezzanines are dismantled or, on the contrary, mounted?

Is it allowed to demolish the mezzanine without approval?

The mezzanine refers to the type of built-in furniture, a small cabinet that is mounted near the ceiling. Such a design is very often initially available in residential apartments, but not all owners use them. Because of this, owners often decide to dismantle them. But not everyone knows whether this applies to redevelopment or not. In this case, we can return to the fact that mezzanines are not indicated in the BTI documents. Therefore, everything that happens to them will also not be fixed in them.
