Advantages and disadvantages of built-in hoods

The kitchen hood performs a very important function - cleaning the air from odors, grease, burning and dirt. Thanks to her, even the dust in the room is not as much as it would be without her participation. But it is very important to properly care for the device itself, so that it continues to function properly and perform its tasks.

At the moment, the most popular models are built-in under the upper facades of furniture. These products are also called flat, since outwardly they represent a flat surface, which is located above the hob. They, as a rule, have built-in lighting and move forward before cooking, fully matching the size of the stove.

External surfaces

Built-in models do not have many external surfaces, so they are usually easy to care for. When cleaning, you need to wash them with a sponge dipped in a kitchen cleaner, it should be able to dissolve grease in order to remove grease from the surface.

Cleaning and replacing filters

A much more serious approach requires the internal surfaces of the device. Most modern models have two types of filters:

  • fatty - they are most often metal or acrylic and protect against grease, dust, various debris, etc .;
  • coal - absorb odors.

If the grease filters are made of metal, they do not need to be replaced, but need to be washed regularly. You need to do this once a month, you can wash them both by hand and in the dishwasher, unless otherwise indicated in the instructions. It is better to choose a mode with cool water. Acrylic grease filters need to be replaced and should be changed every three months for daily cooking. Many modern models with this type of protection are equipped with special sensors that indicate the need for replacement. Charcoal filters also change without fail. With daily use, they will require replacement once a year.

  5. Wipe dry all parts of the device.
  6. Replace filters if necessary.
  7. Reinstall clean and dry grease filters.
  8. Plug the extractor into an outlet.

Modern built-in kitchen hoods are an ideal solution that combines practicality, originality and reliability, which cannot but rejoice.
