Most often, the kitchen space of standard apartments has a limited area. It is good if it fits not only the cooking zone, but also the zone of its reception. However, with an excessive pile of details of a kitchen set, there may not be any free space at all. To prevent such a situation, the designers of this furniture strive to minimize the size of each "detail".
And more often than not, nothing more than a kitchen sink suffers from this. But is it right that one of the main attributes of the kitchen has a minimum size and is literally “driven” into a corner, preventing the hostess from quickly and comfortably putting things in order?!
Choosing the Right Wash
A kitchen sink is a guarantee of cleanliness, order and a pleasant pastime in the kitchen. It must meet absolutely all the requirements of the hostess, namely:
- Form.Kitchen sinks, most often, have 2 types of shapes - rounded and rectangular. The first option is preferable in cases where you want to save space as much as possible. However, this may affect the ease of use of the sink.
- Spaciousness. A good kitchen sink must be large and deep. This is especially true in a large family, where unwashed dishes are regularly available. If the kitchen area allows, then you can install a double sink - it consists of two bowls, in one of which dishes can accumulate, while in the other you can freely wash your hands, vegetables, fruits and just comfortably put the kitchen in order.
- Heat resistance and impact resistance. The material from which the kitchen sink is made must have a resistant threshold of sensitivity to high temperatures and an impact-resistant design that can withstand any impact and weight of heavy dishes.
- Harmony. The selected sink should also fit the overall interior of the kitchen.
- Additional Gadgets. An important detail of the sink will be the ability to connect to it not only the necessary mixer, but also a water filter, as well as dispensers for soap and cleaning products.
kitchen sink material
All materials from which kitchen sinks are made can be divided into 4 groups:
- composite materials;
- natural materials;
- ceramics;
- stainless steel.
Today in the construction market you can find a huge variety of kitchen sinks made of various composite materials. Namely:
- acrylic;
- silgranite;
- flaggranite;
- tegranite, etc.
These materials are quite wear-resistant, absorb noise and withstand exposure to high temperatures.But not an unimportant detail of their choice is the opportunity to experiment not only with the shape, but also with the color of the future sink. Natural materials include stone and wood. However, in addition to their high cost, they are very demanding to care for. Kitchen sinks made of ceramic have a beautiful appearance, but are very sensitive to impacts. Despite sufficient all of this material, it can get damaged even from a heavy cast iron pan.
Stainless steel sinks are considered the market leader. This is a fairly budget material, built into absolutely any design. However, the disadvantage of such a sink will be its "noisiness". When choosing the perfect kitchen sink, you should focus not only on the material from which it is made. All of the above rules must be taken into account so that both cooking and cleaning in the kitchen are comfortable and effortless!
