Paintings have been used to decorate rooms for many years. They are able to make the room more stylish, beautiful and sophisticated. One of the modern solutions for room decor is modular paintings. What is the best way to use such paintings to decorate the living room?
What are modular paintings?
Modular paintings are a whole image, divided into several parts. Initially, such paintings began to be used back in the Renaissance, but in those days the paintings were not divided into parts, they hung next to each other. The paintings depicted biblical scenes, pictures from the lives of saints.People began to hang parts of a modular picture at a short distance from each other only in the 20th century. Each part of the modular picture was evaluated as an individual image and as part of a single whole.
Modular pictures
Today, the choice of modular paintings is truly huge. Different sizes, divided into two, three or more parts, they can fit into almost any interior. The paintings depict a variety of subjects:
- animals and birds;
- architecture;
- people against the backdrop of landscapes;
- abstract pictures.
Parts of modular paintings can be either the same size or different. In the latter case, the central object is larger and the side objects are smaller.
Modular paintings in the interior of the living room
Modular paintings can be hung in almost any room. They will look elegant over the head of the bed in the bedrooms, suitable for decorating offices and commercial premises, but most often the living room becomes the place for the picture. This wall decor makes the room bright, conceptual, allows you to create accents. If we talk about the placement of the picture, then one of the most popular options is above the sofa.
And this is quite logical: there is always a lot of free space above the sofa, which seems empty. A modular painting looks more refined and concise than just a large canvas. If there is any central object in the living room, then the picture can be placed above it. Such a central object can be a decorative fireplace, a console table, a chest of drawers. Since modular paintings are large enough, they look best in the center of the room.
At the same time, there are smaller versions that can be hung in the corner, above the armchair and coffee table. When placing a picture in the interior of the living room, it is worth remembering that in itself it is already a big bright accent, so you should not place a lot of bright details at the same level in height or next to it. In this case, it is likely to get a tasteless interior, decorated with a mess of shades and textures.
