It is impossible to build an apartment building in such a way that the windows of all apartments face the sunny side. Surely some room will be deprived of sunlight and it will not be as cozy, light and festive in it as in a room located on the side of the sun.
However, this shortcoming is quite easy to eliminate without making serious and expensive efforts.
- Enhanced light effect. Curtains are hung on the windows, the color of which varies in light yellow tones. These curtains, even in low light, will create the effect of sunlight penetrating the room.
- There is one small but effective trick. It is necessary to paint the walls in a dimly lit room with paint that has a small percentage of reflective composition. With a similar paint, you can paint the slopes of windows that are located in relation to the openings at an angle of 90 degrees.
- If the walls in the room are covered with wallpaper, then you need to choose them with small patterns, for example, polka dots, diamonds, small flowers. The shade of these wallpapers should be light tones - from white to beige.
- If the floor in the room is covered with parquet, then it must be scraped off and varnished in a light tone. The most suitable option would be with a glossy finish, since such a floor will reflect light well.
- Use of fresh flowers. In most apartments, flowers appear only on days when the family has a holiday. Even a small bouquet can create a festive mood, so do not save on flowers. It is not necessary to buy a luxurious bouquet every day, a few wildflowers are enough - and this will be enough to make the room happier and brighter. Best of all, if the bouquet is made together with a florist, these specialists will be able to teach you how to make a real work of art out of several flowers.
- Use of indoor plants. Large indoor plants always decorate any room and are appropriate for any style. An unused and empty corner in the room, filled with a large flower, for example, a ficus or a small palm tree, immediately changes the interior, making it more refined and aristocratic. Especially if there are such excessive architectural structures as columns in the room - flowers will balance them and make them more appropriate.
- Ideal for decorating rooms facing the shady side, textile curtains are suitable, having tones from yellow to red. This color compensates for the lack of sunlight. The curtains themselves should be light, the fabric should be translucent, flowing, for example, it can be chiffon.Important: if the windows of the apartment face the hot south side, then it should be decorated with blue and green (aqua) colors. These shades will give a feeling of coolness.
- The presence of an art object in the room, for example, an ecological-style installation, an antique mirror, a large vase, makes the room bright and original.
- Adding a table lamp to light up dark corners makes the room appear larger and more spacious.
