VARIETIES OF FITTINGS AND ITS APPLICATION

Reinforcement is a building material that is used to build walls or frames made of concrete. It is she who becomes a guarantee of rigidity and strength of the created structure. It is produced in two types: rods, welded meshes.

Purpose of fittings

When working with concrete, reinforcement is a must. Reinforcement is laid at the construction stage:

  1. Reinforced concrete products.
  2. Foundation.
  3. Wall masonry.
  4. Bridge or dam.

Rebar helps the concrete product last longer. It prevents deformation, reduces the load.

What kind of fittings can be made according to the material of manufacture?

Today, two types of reinforcement are used:

  1. Steel.
  2. Composite.

Sometimes wooden fittings are used. It looks like poles or slats made of bamboo. But the use of such fittings is allowed in exceptional cases. So for interior partitions it can be used, but in no case can it be used to make a foundation, overlap.

Reinforcement made of metal, refers to metal-rolled products. From what steel it is made depends on its strength and durability. It can also be made from steel, which does not rust.

Composite does not contain metal. It consists of fiberglass from basalt and carbon fiber. This material must only be used for its intended purpose.

Advantages of metal fittings

The advantages of metal fittings include:

  1. Such fittings can be connected by welding.
  2. Can be used to build tall houses.
  3. It has electrical conductivity, which leads to the fact that it is used in the grounding system.
  4. Bending, retains its shape.

Advantages of composite reinforcement

The advantages include:

  1. Resistant to corrosion.
  2. Acceptable price.
  3. Ease of transportation.
  4. Little weight.
  5. Strength.

Disadvantages of composite reinforcement

From the above, we can conclude that composite reinforcement wins, but in fact it is not. Composite reinforcement must not be used as floors. This material is intended only for the construction of foundations and walls. It is also not recommended to use it to form masonry corners.

Summing up, I would like to note that each type of reinforcement is designed for specific purposes, which are dangerous to confuse, and not recommended.
