Many do not pay due attention to this parameter. For people of high stature, a model with a low height is not suitable. Sitting will be very uncomfortable. For shorter people, the opposite is true. Many models are designed for certain average parameters of a person.When choosing a toilet bowl, you should definitely pay attention to the height.
Type of toilet bowl
The toilet bowl can be floor-mounted or suspended. Floor mounting is the most common. Simple and accessible. The toilet is installed and fixed to the floor. The flush tank is installed on the back of the toilet, or hidden in a wall niche, allowing you to hide unnecessary plumbing items from view. Hanging mount allows you to increase the usable area of the bathroom. The toilet is mounted on the wall, allowing you to save space in a small room. Drain fittings are hidden in the niche of the wall, additionally saving space.
Toilet bowl shape
The ease of use of the plumbing fixture, the quality of the flush, and the absence of splashes during the operation of the toilet depend on what shape of the bowl the toilet has. Modern products have three main types of bowl shape:
- poppet,
- funnel-shaped
- visor.
The plate-shaped bowl practically excludes splashes. But dirt and plaque constantly accumulate inside, which are not completely washed off when the water is lowered. You have to work with a brush more often, and the constant presence of a small amount of water in a plate leads to the appearance of salt and other deposits. This type of bowl is not today considered obsolete, less convenient, and is used the least.
The funnel-shaped bowl has a hole in the very center where the waste immediately gets. The funnel-shaped type of bowl is considered the most hygienic. But this design has a drawback - a significant amount of splashes when using the toilet. Spatter can be minimized by the sloping rear wall design, but it cannot be completely eliminated.
The visor bowl combines the properties of a dish-shaped and funnel-shaped bowl.Splashes are kept to a minimum while maintaining ease of use and cleanliness inside the toilet.
Release direction
There are three main release types:
- horizontal,
- vertical,
- straight.
Which type of outlet to choose depends on the design and the piping system in the room. The most commonly used design is the oblique type release. The rarest is vertical. With this type of release, the sewer pipe must go into the floor.
The material used to make the toilet
The two main materials from which toilets are made are porcelain and earthenware, which are specially designed for the manufacture of sanitary ware. Toilet bowls made of faience are cheaper to manufacture and cost. Toilet bowls made of porcelain are more durable and reliable, but their cost is more expensive. There are other, less common materials from which toilets are made - metal, natural or artificial stone, plastic, or even precious metal structures.
All these designs are usually not serial, and even exclusive production. They are expensive. Not available to everyone. But metal toilets are widely used for public toilets because of their vandal resistance. And of course, the appearance of the toilet bowl, which you should definitely pay attention to when choosing. Any thing should please the owner. And the toilet is no exception.
