The kitchen apron performs two main functions: it protects the wall surface from grease, prints and other contaminants and is a kind of decoration for the workspace. Today you can find various ways to finish the kitchen apron. The most commonly used materials are:

- tempered glass.
There are also options made of wood, plastic and natural stones. They look quite interesting in the interior, but they cope worse with their protective function. When choosing a finishing material, be guided, first of all, by how much time you spend in the kitchen. If you have a large family and often cook at home, choose more practical solutions.

Tile is the leader among finishing materials for a kitchen backsplash. It is easy to install, durable and reliable. A stainless steel apron may seem cold, uncomfortable and boring, but for high-tech or minimalist kitchens, metal is the perfect option. The most important thing is to choose sheets of optimal thickness. Too thin metal will bend and make unpleasant sounds when struck. Please note that mirrored surfaces can give bright reflections that are not always pleasing to the eye.

How to choose a kitchen apron?
If you have already decided on the material of the future apron, it remains only to measure its dimensions. The optimal height of the finish is 60 cm, however, it may vary depending on the preferences and height of the owners. It will be more convenient for short people to work in the kitchen with an apron height of 45-55 cm. If the upper cabinets of the headset open up, it is also recommended to lower the apron height.
Important! When choosing an apron pattern, consider the size of the room.A large print will look too bulky in a small kitchen, just as a small print will become invisible in a large area.
To visually enlarge the kitchen, choose surfaces that reflect light well. Metal, glass or light glossy tiles are perfect for this purpose. Remember that glossy surfaces are more "capricious" than matte ones: even the slightest dirt is visible on them, and when cleaning they will not tolerate abrasive products.
