At the same time, it cannot be said that cleaning on weight is an absolutely meaningless exercise. You just need to learn which manipulations make sense and which do not.
Tips for caring for curtains made from different types of fabrics
In fact, you can clean the curtains without outside help, it is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. But what kind of care to be done depends directly on the type of curtains:
- Delicate silk.Unfortunately, most products made from such materials tend to deteriorate during the first wash. Dark and stuffed products are most susceptible to such harm. Only a full-fledged dry cleaning or professional care of the product will help to save from such an outcome. You also need to be very delicate when ironing such things, so as not to damage them.
- Shiny velvet. The material is also among the expensive ones, with which it is highly recommended not to experiment at home. All velvet products should be washed exclusively in a delicate mode. Squeezing them is also strongly discouraged, and should be dried in a vertical mode.
- Brocade is a fabric that is incredibly demanding on water temperature. If generally accepted standards are not observed, the product turns into a shapeless rag, which you can safely go to wash the floors.
Dust removal
Previously, many simply shook the carpet from dust in order to make it clean. Some were engaged in a long and laborious washing of the product. The most interesting thing is that the result was almost identical. With curtains, the same story can turn out, you should just try to remove the dust and see if the desired result is achieved. It is also important that the regular conduct of such manipulation contributes to the maximum distance of global washing or dry cleaning, which is good news. The most important thing here is regularity, because as soon as dust penetrates the fibers, it will be impossible to remove it with a vacuum cleaner.
Steamer
The steamer is a universal device that will replace any iron! In order to get started, just turn it on and start the process of washing and ironing with steam! But it is important to understand that such devices will never be able to completely replace washing, because they do not have a suction function. Part of the dirt will remain on the product, and part will pass into the air, from where it will then settle again on the curtains.
But this is a quick and effective method if you don’t want to spend several hours washing and ironing. If you carry out such procedures regularly, you can delay the washing of the product as much as possible. But, as mentioned earlier, this will not help to completely eliminate the usual procedures.
