Spotlights are becoming more and more popular. They are comfortable and practical. They give a very bright light at night and twilight. In the morning, illuminate the required areas in the room. Mounting spotlights is quite simple. You do not need special equipment, tools, a lot of time. Good for stretch ceilings.
Planning electrics only after the finished plan for the arrangement of furniture
This will make the new home more cozy, comfortable for living. There are general rules that are recommended to follow:
- the distance between the switch and the doorway is 15 cm;
- the switch is located on the side to which the door handle is closer;
- when the bedroom has an overhead light, it is recommended to mount a walk-through switch so that you can turn off the light in two different places: next to the bed, and next to the door;
- you should avoid placing several switches at once in one room (for example, when you have to turn on the light more than 2 times on the way from the front door of the kitchen, the layout of the switches is not the best, because you are unlikely to use it in full all the time).
How should lighting fixtures be positioned?
For high-quality and efficient lighting, it is recommended to mount lighting products according to the following rules:
- the minimum possible distance from the edge of the wall to the fixtures is 20 cm;
- the chandelier is placed exclusively in the center of the ceiling (in the case of a studio apartment, it should be placed in the center of the functional area, taking into account the interior of the room);
- in the presence of stretch ceilings, the distance from the fixtures to the extreme seam of the PVC film is at least 15 cm;
- one spotlight is able to illuminate no more than a couple of m2 of the room (it is better to calculate by 1.5 m2);
- with a symmetrical arrangement of fixtures, it is worth taking care that the devices are at the same distance from the walls and relative to each other.
Light must be different.
There is an interesting option for tiered lighting. It contributes to the creation of volume, emphasizes the depth of space. No natural light source can create such an effect.
Specialists in the field of design distinguish 4 lighting levels (tiers):
- the upper tier, which includes lamps built into the ceiling, chandeliers;
- 1st medium: lamps located on the wall, floor lamps, sconces;
- 2nd medium: lamps by beds, coffee or coffee tables, window sills located below normal level;
- lower tier: built-in plinth, floor lamps, floor lamps.
The lower the source of artificial lighting is located, the more intimate the atmosphere becomes. Perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere with a couple of levels of lighting located at the bottom. An example is a decorative fireplace with candles or a natural, classic fireplace.
