In those days when apartments in the country were distributed free of charge, no one paid much attention to such trifles as interior doors. The apartments, as a rule, were typical, with a full finish, which was their undoubted advantage, but everything inside the dwelling was the same - wallpaper, windows, plumbing, parquet or linoleum, entrance and interior doors.
This was some disadvantage, however, few people changed the interior of the apartment. Interior and entrance doors, for example, have stood in them for many decades without replacement. Yes, and there was nothing special to change them for, the market for these products practically did not exist as unnecessary, and the doors regularly performed their functions, protecting the rooms from extraneous odors and noise.
Nowadays, the range of interior doors is overflowing.For users, the color of the doors, the material from which they are made, and their design features have become important. With a large number of various products offered in furniture stores and the Internet, the consumer invariably raises the question - what to choose for your apartment from all this abundance?
Sliding doors
Products of this design can be divided into groups:
- sliding-folding. The doors of this group are compact, they do not take up extra space when they are opened. They are made of several interconnected strips, the last of which is fixed in the wall opening. All strips are equipped with rollers that can be attached both from above and below;
- parallel-sliding, these are compartment doors, cassette doors, radius, inward, cascade. The most popular of them are compartment doors. They can move in both directions, have one or two wings.
- Cassette doors work on the same principle as compartment doors, but differ from them in that their leaf is hidden in a niche when opened.
- Doors of a rounded shape are called radius. In most cases they are glazed.
- Cascading doors can consist of several canvases, one of which remains stationary, while the rest move. The sash, located on the edge, pulls the rest along with it when moving.
Choice of door color
One way to choose the color of an interior door is to match the color of the flooring. This option is suitable for apartments where the entire floor is covered with the same type and color.Designers advise in this case to choose a door color that is slightly lighter than the color of the floor, although there are no strict rules, you can choose a darker shade.
If the rooms have floor coverings of different colors, then this is not a problem. You can always choose a door that matches the overall shade that different coatings have. If the floors in the apartment are wooden, then the “woody” shade should prevail in the color of the doors. Not bad if the texture of the door will resemble a tree. A solid wood door is quite expensive, so it requires some maintenance.
Door handles equipped with locks can be installed in interior doors. This allows you to close the door more tightly to protect the room from unnecessary noise and smells coming from the kitchen. Fittings are not only a functional element, but also a decoration of the door, so it should be combined with its appearance and color.
