The Krasny Oktyabr factory was founded in 1851. Its owner announced the manufacture and sale of handmade sweets and chocolate bars. A little later, the factory became state-owned, after the formation of Soviet power and nationalization.
History of creation
Atin 1922, the factory was named "Red October", before that it bore the name of the creator "Einem" (created the factory Württemberg von Einem), and then was called "State Confectionery Factory No. 1"
For a long time, the factory produced delicious sweets, popular not only in Russia, but also in neighboring countries. However, already in 2007 the factory was closed, but not liquidated.
Interesting fact: the factory continued to work even in wartime. In addition to sweets, concentrated cereals for the military, signal sticks and flame arresters were also produced.
It was decided to transfer production to the Babaevsky confectionery concern, so that the sweets manufacturing company could continue its work.
And it was decided to equip the premises of the factory for the exhibition purposes of the capital.
IN After the war, work at the factory was considered prestigious, as wages were quite high, and employees received additional benefits and privileges.
Since 2007, various exhibitions have been held in the premises of the former factory, art spaces have been created, shows and demonstrations have been arranged. And over time, the factory was recognized as literally the center of bohemian life. However, despite all the popularity, the new owner of the building is in no hurry to change the appearance of the building. In addition, a handmade chocolate shop continues to produce products on the territory, as well as a museum entirely dedicated to the traditions of the factory, its history and products.
Interesting fact: Initially, the founder of the factory sold sawn sugar. In times of shortage of sweets, products were in demand. And after 1 year, Württemberg von Einem opened his own production of chocolate, sweets and chocolate bars.
It was in this year that the factory produced 32 tons of chocolate (bars of various weights), about 175 tons of chocolates with and without fillings, as well as 24 tons of tea biscuits. The share of crushed sugar accounted for 65 tons of the total volume of sweets.
